Singles – On-line or Introduction Agency – which option works best for you?
Why use an introduction agency when you can pay 10th of the price on an on-line dating site?
The on-line dating site works instantly – you could be in touch with someone immediately, if you strike it lucky.
There are hundreds of thousands to choose from on the on-line dating sites, they say.
With the on-line option you have cheap price, instant success and quantity. Why bother with introduction agencies?
There are, however, many pitfalls that may outweigh the benefits of the dating site but that is for you to decide.
When you make a decision on price you have to expect to get what you pay for. If you are paying for something for yourself, what type of value do you put on yourself, your future and your safety?
Instant success means you are corresponding with someone immediately and you could be meeting them tomorrow. However, is that person who they say they are and will they still meet you after they have seen your photo?
Quantity, meaning there are hundreds of thousands to choose from. That means that there is much work to be done, wading through the hundreds who are married or far too geeky to ever leave their computer, or overseas, interstate or not even who they say they are.
Susan told me that she had a telephone relationship with a fellow for three weeks before they met. He called her at ten past eight every evening. It fizzled out after they met. She was sure that he was addicted to telephone dating.
Maria flew to Sydney to meet a fellow she met on-line. I asked why wasn’t he flying to Melbourne to meet her. She indicated that he was paying for the ticket. I still thought he could have made the effort to fly to Melbourne. However, it turned out that everything had to be his way down to the minute-est detail, too much for Maria to contend with.
